I was angered to see here that this had been part of the contract. I would guess that a timing / delivery / logistics issue on the part of Bridgeport gave folett the excuse not to do it. The failure to carry out this contract is indicative of the kind of things I expect to see as the march of privatization continues.

Unfortunately, precious time has been robbed from us in the form of endless documentation, and mundane tasks like barcoding books.Yet we do it, not because it is forced upon us by a dictatorship, but because of our students who just like us, are questioning what it means to be educated in America.

All the kids should have e-readers anyway and it would take a few moments to register them…but that would take money out of the book-sellers hands! Don’t worry. When Vallas checks out how much more he can suck out of the system,they will go with ebooks.
